Group Support (Free)

While there are many things that can make recovery from benzos harder than it needs to be, perceived loss of meaningful connections and feelings of social, emotional, and experiential isolation are especially challenging. Symptoms so often leave those in benzo recovery feeling cut off from the world and misunderstood by caregivers. Even valuable programs like AA and NA don’t meet the needs of those breaking free of benzos. Fortunately, virtual support groups specific to benzo recovery offer a social and emotional lifeline that can allow those in this community to hold space together in a context where there’s relevant answers, mutual solidarity, and incredibly supportive relationships.

Benefits of Group Coaching

Group support is one of Jake’s passions because he knows how powerful a sense of community and belonging can be in the darkest of times. In partnership with the r/benzorecovery community on Reddit, Jake has been hosting a weekly benzo recovery support group for years and has seen again and again how central that group can be for countless individuals. Within that group setting, you can expect to be respected, heard, and empowered. While no one is obligated to speak or appear on camera, all are encouraged to participate to the extent that they’re comfortable with. The support group is a great way to get reliable information and develop deeply meaningful connections in a space free of hate speech, disrespect, or political and religious positioning.

What people are saying

"I met Jake months into my benzo withdrawal, when I didn't know what was wrong with me. It was a terrifying and bewildering time with repeated hospitalisations and many baffling physical and psychological symptoms. Jake's knowledge and care allowed me to understand what was happening, and more importantly learn to live with the fallout of a rapid taper. Thanks to Jake's guidance, support, and encouragement, I am now living a fulfilling life and well on my way to being BETTER than before my benzo journey."

Jake has facilitated significant progress in my son's recovery journey and supported our family throughout. I wholeheartedly endorse him - Jake is amazing!"

"Jake provided the only space where I can freely express my experience of benzodiazepine withdrawal. It was a great relief to be understood, and it gave me hope to hold on. Historically, I have had a big problem with the idea of hope and I'm honestly pretty cynical about it, but Jake is more than real enough that I can trust what he puts down. He kept me from giving up and that's very literally everything."

H. O.

"Jake has been a tremendous help throughout my recovery from post-acute withdrawal syndrome. His encouragement, guidance, and practical advice have kept me grounded during the toughest moments. Jake not only provides support but also helps me build the skills I need to navigate this journey with confidence. I’m incredibly grateful for his continued presence and unwavering dedication."

"I cannot say enough about Jake and how generous he has been with his knowledge, kindness, and time. He has given so much to the benzodiazepine recovery community without ever asking for anything in return. When I first joined his support group, I was at the lowest point in my life, and now I am almost finished with my master's degree and have hope for the future. I'll never be able to adequately thank Jake for all that he has given me as both a mentor and a friend."
